  1. Nottingham 13:45 Cowboy Soldier Twelve runs since last win in 2019. First run since leaving Robert Cowell when good second of 10 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good, 11/2) 7 days ago. Can't be ruled out.
  2. Chester 15:15 El Astronaute Smart and likeable sort who has a superb record at this track. Should be ready to go on return, so he's the one to beat.
  3. Chester 16:45 Set Point 1pt Win Sea The Stars colt who ran out a good winner of a Nottingham maiden in October. Improved a shade further upped in trip on return at Newbury so not ruled out on handicap debut trying 1½m.
  4. Kempton 13:50 Adjali Smart juvenile hurdler in 2018/19. Stiff task in the Martin Pipe last time and had previously shown promise over fences at Ludlow. Could be the way to go.
  5. Newmarket 13:50 Zabeel Champion Progressive handicapper who arrives on the back of a brace of wins at Ripon in April. Uncomplicated sort who could yet have more to offer.
  6. Newmarket 15:00 Pyledriver Made up into a very smart 3-y-o last term, landing King Edward VII at Royal Ascot and York's Great Voltigeur. Also good third in the St Leger. Holds very solid claims with ground conditions to suit. 16:50 Secret Protector Improving War Front colt who returned to this country with an excellent second to Highland Avenue in a listed event here 18 days ago. Leading claims with longer trip sure to suit. 17:25 Forest Falcon Progressive juvenile, readily making all in a Yarmouth novice (1m) in September. Solid pair of runners-up efforts in handicaps bot
  7. Cheltenham 18:10 Trio For Rio Fairly useful chaser/winning pointer. First run since leaving Warren Greatrex when career best when landing 13-runner hunter chase at Ludlow 57 days ago, forging clear. Difficult to oppose. Chepstow 17:05 Sir Plato C&D winner. Not ideally placed when seventh of 13 in handicap at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm, 33/1) 18 days ago, Visor back on and well in the mix.
  8. Punchestown 16:50 Alpha Des Obeaux Useful chaser. Fourteen runs since last win in 2018. Completed, albeit a long behind in the Grand National 19 days ago. Fourth in the Cross Country prior to that and has to be taken seriously. 17:25 Flooring Porter High-class hurdler. Further progress when winning 15-runner Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham (good to soft) 42 days ago by 3¼ lengths from Sire Du Berlais, making all in a good time. The one to beat. 9. Ascot 16:30 Rewaayat Much-improved when landing a 6f Salisbury handicap by 7½ lengths last July. Ran creditably after 8 months off when second of 11 at Newmarket (5f) 15 days ago. Should go well with that under his belt. Pontefract 15:50 True Mason Endured a tough 2020 but has dropped a long way in the weights as a result and shaped encouragingly after 6 months off when third in 6f handicap at Newcastle 26 days ago. Looks ready to strike.
  10. Nottingham 17:05 Shalaa Asker All the better for return when just failing over C&D and backed that up when third at Thirsk 10 days ago, shaping better than the bare result. One to be interested in. Ayr 20:15 Wootton Creek Plenty of promise when runner-up on first 2 starts and had soft ground as an excuse when disappointing at Nottingham on final outing. Worth another chance on return for top yard in excellent form.
  11. Naas 14:25 Make A Challenge C&D winner. Bit below form 3 lengths third of 15 to Laugh A Minute in listed race at Cork (6f, good to soft) 23 days ago, shaping as if needing the run. Usual cheekpieces refitted and claims. Windsor 18:20 Classical Wave Latest win at Lingfield in March. 7/4, second of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW) 16 days ago. Clearly in great heart and a massive player if as effective on turf.
  12. Navan 15:50 Thinking Of You Debut 7f Limerick winner. 3/1, creditable seventh of 9 to Saffron Beach in Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket (7f, soft). Off 6 months. Tongue strap on 1st time. In the mix. Salisbury 16:30 Brasca 7/2, showed he retains all his ability after 19 months off when second of 4 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 26 days ago, needing the emphasis more on stamina. Leading claims.
  13. Sandown 13:55 On To Victory Smart on Flat, landing November Handicap last year. Successful in a maiden/novice either side of not being seen to best effort in the Betfair Hurdle and his mark looks very fair. 15:05 Altior Outstanding on his day, winner of 15 of his 17 starts over fences, including the last 3 running of this, but he was below par on return at Kempton in December. Now tried in cheekpieces. 16:15 Younevercall Smart hurdler who shaped better than the distance beaten suggests in the Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last month. Won this race in 2019 so o
  14. Sandown 14:25 Hukum Highly-progressive colt who followed up his Royal Ascot handicap win with a smooth display in Geoffrey Freer at Newbury. Didn't quite stay trip when fifth in St Leger final start. Should do well at 4. 16:40 Sea The Shells Dante/Derby entry who looked very useful when winning 9.5f Wolverhampton novices in February/March. Selected to take the next step up the ladder in his stride. Perth 13:30 Fortunes Melody Useful hurdler for David Cottin in France. Ran a good way below that level when second on her British debut at Southwell, but it's too soon to b
  15. Beverley 16:25 Mythical Madness Good third of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 50/1) 17 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Perth 13:50 Quick Draw Low-mileage hurdler who in first-time cheekpieces, got off the mark in a handicap that took less winning than seemed likely at Chepstow 17 days ago, wandering late on.
