Given a chance by the assessor and looks set for a leading role here.

  3. Thirsk 16:30 Oriental Art Promising type. Good second of 9 in handicap (11/4) at Lingfield (1¼m, AW) 20 days ago. Should have more to offer back at 1½m. Leading claims.
  4. Newmarket 13:35 Adaay To Remember Confirmed debut promise in no uncertain terms when impressive winner of 8-runner novice at Lingfield. Beaten only by a smart prospect at Doncaster next time and remains of interest now handicapping.

Reasonable claims if he can back that up on nursery debut. 19:52 Refuge C&D winner. 4/1, good second of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 10 days ago. Latest success (last October) came on bad ground at this track, so he makes plenty of appeal. Newmarket 18:25 Goddess Of Fire It's now fourteen runs since her last win in 2020 but she recorded good third of 11 in 1m handicap here 7 days ago. Back up in trip and high on the shortlist. Engaged Epsom 8.35 Thursday.

Potentially well treated returning to this sphere and Ray Dawson takes a further 3 lb off

Lingfield 13:55 Harston Thrice-raced maiden. 40/1, fifth of 12 in minor event at Nottingham (10.2f, good to firm) 32 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. Likely improver now pitched into a handicap. 15:30 Zaammit Twice-raced winner. 4/7, built on debut promise when won 9-runner maiden at Doncaster (6f, good) 30 days ago, staying on to lead final strides after hanging left. Should improve further. 16:35 Moosmee Has improved with each of his three runs this term, and back to winning ways in 8-runner handicap here (6f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Expected to be bang there again despite 7 lb hike in the weights. 17:10 Vitalline 15/2, proved better than ever to open his account for the season when winning 9-runner handicap at this course (7f, soft) 28 days ago, suited by increase in trip. Leading claims once again.

Likely more to come on handicap debut. 17:25 Royal Countess Career best when winning 10-runner handicap (15/8) at this course (10f, good to firm) 8 days ago. 5 lb penalty to carry now but another bold bid anticipated. Lingfield 19:35 Sir Edward Elgar Promising sort. Won 6-runner maiden at this C&D (AW, 5/4), driven out. Off 166 days. Makes plenty of appeal on handicap debut. Newton Abbot 13:45 Theo Scored over fences at Leicester in November but off track since below-form fifth in handicap at Ascot in December. Pitched in at a low level with sound claims on these terms, so well worth considering
  12. Stratford 17:30 Ballymoy Smart hurdler in 2018/19. Useful form in this sphere, rattling off the hat-trick in a Perth novice (23.8f) in May. Hard to knock his subsequent Newton Abbot second and expected to be in the mix again.
  13. Southwell 13:30 Boughtbeforelunch Been in good form in staying handicap chases, scoring at Ludlow before a cracking run off this career-high mark at Aintree. Won on his only other visit to Southwell and lots to like.

Still very much of interest in this less competitive affair. Curragh 16:10 Passion Smart filly. 14/1, good 3½ lengths third of 12 to Wonderful Tonight in Fillies' & Mares' Stakes at Ascot (12f, soft), nearest finish. Off 8 months. Return to this trip, so not taken lightly on return.
  15. Doncaster 16:35 Monbaher Muhaarar colt who really clicked when blinkered for his handicap debut at this course last time, powering through from rear before being eased down. Obvious claims despite hefty rise. Newmarket 20:35 Passion And Glory Missed whole of last season and efforts in Dubai earlier this year were poor. However, firmly back on track when scoring in good style at Lingfield (1¼m, AW) recently and big player under a penalty.
